As the title of this website suggests, I am Steve Collins and I am an enthusiastic traveller and a travel broadcaster.

I sold my first travel story in 1987 (it was about Hainan Island in the South China Sea).  I have edited several travel magazines, written for many more and, for all of this century, have been talking about travel on commercial radio stations, as well as presenting travel on TV.As well, I have been lucky enough to visit many fascinating places and to have had some fantastic adventures.

I am Australian, and live in Perth, Western Australia, but I have also lived in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

My favourite activity is to travel.  I never tire of it, and hope that I am lucky enough to continue to travel for a long time into the future.

I appear regularly each Friday morning on 3AW Melbourne’s Australia Overnight with Tony McManus. This show is syndicated to 5AA Adelaide, 6PR Perth and 26 regional stations throughout Australia.

I also make regular appearances on the Perth-produced Foxtel TV variety show The Couch featuring Fred Mafica. To  view those appearances Click here:

I have been a professional broadcaster for over half a century and enjoy making podcasts and creating audio documentaries, which I create for Substack and share on podcast outlets such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts and others.
